Join us for an artist-led panel discussion curated and chaired by Hannah Wallis. Wallis will be joined in conversation by Turner Prize 2024 winner Jasleen Kaur, curator Amrita Dhallu, and former Artist Fellow Joshua Donkor.
Together they will explore the evolving landscape of support structures for artists—what they look like now, and what they might need to become in the future. From short- and long-term support models to collective and mutual networks of care, the conversation will reflect on the diverse pathways artists and curators are forging across formal and informal contexts.
Speakers
This discussion invites audiences into an urgent and generative conversation on how artists can be supported across their careers.
About Artists Futures Fund:
Artists Futures Fund supports talented individuals to overcome significant barriers that would prevent them from pursuing careers as artists. Our support encompasses place-based Artist Fellowships, bursaries, mentoring, exhibition, networking and professional development opportunities. We co-deliver our current programmes through dynamic partnerships with Higher Education Institutions and cultural organisations across the UK.
Our core mission is to open doors to diverse and exciting futures in the arts.
Artists Futures Fund is an independent charity, founded in 1810, and formerly known as the Artists’ Benevolent Fund (registered charity no: 270585).
We always welcome donations from individuals, corporates, and foundations that add to our resources and help a greater number of emerging artists who face a range of economic, social, cultural, physical and mental health barriers to sustaining professional careers as artists. About Contemporary Collective:
Contemporary Collective Studio by DegreeArt.com was founded in 2006 to champion and further the careers of promising artists, many of whom the gallery has managed since graduation. The core mission of the Directors is to support talented artists and empower them to continue making and developing through the critical early years of their careers.
Responding to the need in the art world to support young artists in the emerging stages of their careers, Contemporary Collective aims to provide them with meaningful exposure and access to the market place and collectors. The gallery has a proven track record of supporting artists at this formative time as they embark on their professional careers.
